The Nectar Creek Tap Room is located on the western edge of Philomath, Oregon. Brothers Phil and Nick Lorenz produce small batch handcrafted award-winning meads using local farmstead honeys, fruits, and other ingredients grown right in the Willamette Valley.

Market Ramen is all about making perfect tonkotsu-style ramen.  Each bowl starts with a rich bone broth made from local pork, housemade noodles cooked to order and roasted pork belly–with garnishes of green onions, pickled mustard greens, ginger, roasted mushrooms, nori and a slow-cooked egg.

This style of ramen began in the Hakata district of Fukuoka City in Kyushu. Here in Eugene, Market Ramen is emulating that tradition with ramen made by hand using local ingredients and meats. Tonkotsu means “pork bones” in Japanese–and the broth is the central ingredient, made with pork from Deck Family Farms and Tails and Trotters. The noodles are made in house using wheat flour, salt, water and kansui, an alkaline mineral water.   

Designed in the casual style of an authentic ramen shop, Market Ramen is a pop-up by Marché chef Rocky Maselli and the team from Marché Restaurant Group, and the latest addition to the Public Market Eateries at the 5th Street Public Market. We are Paul and Judy Fuller, owners of Sweet Creek Foods, and we have been steeped in farming and food preserving since we met more than 25 years ago. With the help of our sons, Zach and Cody, our vision is to support the local and regional food system using organic produce direct from local farms. We “put up” more than 20 shelf-stable foods each year, and they are always packed in glass. Our small batch, 100% organic, and non-GMO pantry items are a direct reflection of Oregon’s abundant and diverse growing season.

Local Oregon farms provide the ingredients for our enchilada and tomato sauces, marinades, fruit jams and spreads, apple sauces, pickled beets and jalapeños and other recipes we dream up.

Minimal transportation of farm ingredients to Sweet Creek’s kitchen means you’ll taste the “freshness” the moment you open one of our jars. In addition, our sea-to-table commitment to Oregon fishermen allows us to preserve albacore tuna, packed in its natural oils and added salt. We don’t use any artificial preservatives or additives.

You can find a selection of our foods year round at more than 50 retail locations such as natural food stores, co-ops, and major grocery stores such as New Seasons and Market of Choice in Washington, Oregon and California.

To reduce the waste of less-than-perfect produce, we also provide co-packing services for local farms to sell value-added items at their farm stand or farmers market booth. This helps the small farmer make maximum use of their produce and glean additional revenue from their crops.
