Artisan Food Subscription Boxes Launch in Southern Oregon

You are probably staying home a lot these days, right? Local food subscription boxes will infuse that hamster wheel of home cooking and takeout meals you’re on with artisan-style flair. The pandemic of 2020 is providing plenty of opportunities to support local food purveyors and artisans. Three Southern Oregon food artisans will bring their farm to table food love direct to your door. For you….or someone else.

1. ByGeorge Farm and Creamery with Angel Farms

ByGeorge Farm makes artisan, handmade cheese from grass-fed Jersey cows on their 86 Acre farmstead creamery in the Little Applegate Valley of Southern Oregon. For owners Jonny Steiger and Tyson Fehrman, pasture-centered production practices and their passion for a better food system are at the heart of the farm. Included in the food subscription boxes will be the vibrant fruit preserves and pickled vegetables from Angel Farms. For the first time, owner Lauren Angel’s permaculture-based farm products received finalist recognition in the 2021 Good Food Awards pickles category. 2. Herb & Flour Patisserie Pastry Box

Kali Janaye Kennedy, an established self-taught pastry chef in Southern Oregon, is the creative behind some of the valley’s best dessert and breakfast pastry menus at top restaurants such as Luna Cafe & Marketplace, Larks Home Kitchen Cuisine, Larks Kitchen and Cocktails, Downtown Market and Over Easy. Her well-known style pays homage to earthy elements with creative use of sweet components.

Price: $35 per month; No time commitment.

What’s inside: Selection of 1/2 dozen individual servings, like Chocolate Babka Bread, Persimmon Sage Muffins, Peppermint Chocolate Brownie, Molasses Cookie Sandwich, Apple Pie and Chocolate Cranberry Cake. Menu changes monthly.
