The huge success of Outstanding in the Field seasonal farm dinners has spawned the locally grown Farm to Fork Events in Southern Oregon, directed by chef-owner Matthew Domingo. With a goal of reconnecting people to what’s on their plate and educating everyone about what eating farm to fork really means, his dinner events, such as the one above at Restoration Seeds farm, start with a farm tour that leads to a delicious and satisfying homegrown meal prepared by local chefs.
In addition to events around their Southern Oregon home base, Farm to Fork travels backroads, waterways, and urban streets across the West to showcase chef and farm pairings. Guests are treated to long, relaxed multi-course dinners and have the opportunity to experience the talents of farmers, winemakers, and food artisans, such as Cowhorn Vineyard and Garden in Applegate Valley, Kiyokawa Orchards in Hood River, and Dancing Roots Farms in the Willamette Valley, among many others. Take a look at some key highlights from one of their past events at Dunbar Farms in Medford, Oregon:
The 2013 season kicks off soon so make your reservations now for a truly unique eating adventure…no charge for views of the setting sun!
All proceeds from the dinners ($75-$90 per person, depending on location) benefit local farmers and organizations to help grow informed and connected food communities.
