Best known for their award winning restaurants in the Rogue Valley, Neuman Hotel Group is set to unveil its newest dining destination in June 2016. Following on the reno theme of their latest acquisition, Ashland Hills Hotel and Suites, Becky Neuman is designing Luna Cafe and Mercantile as a hip throwback to the 70’s.
With the best available outdoor dining deck and view in town, hungry eaters will order from the counter and enjoy a leisurely meal. According to Culinary Directory Ava DeRosier, the menu, designed by Executive Chef Damon Jones, “is being built around rotisserie meats such as chicken, pork and brisket, flatbread pizzas, fresh salads, and great burgers” (for which their reputation is already well established). If you have room left to satisfy your sweet tooth, you can expect plenty of fun dessert options like homemade ice cream and cones, fresh pastries and local berry slab pie. Anyone who knows Southern Oregon as berry central is sure to be pleased with that last item!
The mercantile is giving a big nod to the abundance of artisan food makers in Oregon by creating a retail space that showcases their products. Chocolates, cheeses, beers, wines, ciders, local cheeses, fresh breads, popcorn and more will be perfect picnic provisions or for in-room snacks for hotel guests. Naturally, no respectable Ashland cafe would be complete without craft cocktails, great coffees and espressos.
