Cocktails are important. They can be the key to a perfect meal, or can be just what you need to take the edge off the workweek with a close friend by your side. Whatever the occasion, the cocktail needs to be good and made with care. I set out to find Eugene’s most delicious and extreme cocktails, and the results are in!

The Granary Pizza Company — Fifth Street Public Market
Not only does The Granary Pizza Company have some of the best happy hour deals in town, they also have, hands down, the most delicious cocktails. Situated in Eugene’s Fifth Street Market, The Granary is the ideal spot to come grab some pizza, listen to live music, and enjoy the cocktail of your choice. Try the Best Drink: a refreshing blend of Tanqueray gin, fresh mint, lemon and lime, orange juices, topped off with Reed’s Ginger Brew–sure to quench your thirst. Head on over on Friday evenings to try their delicious Mai Tai’s, or Margaritas on Saturday!

Agate Alley Bistro & Agate Alley Laboratory — Campus Area
Looking for a spot that has both delicious bistro-style meals as well as unique and innovative cocktails? Both Agate Alley Bistro & their Agate Alley Laboratory are just for you. If you’re dining at the Agate Alley Bistro on Agate St., get the Agate Alley Lemonade: Absolute Citron, ginger syrup, lemon juice, fresh and juicy pomegranate and bubbly soda. Pair this with a burger for a heavenly meal. Also, their Huckleberry Fizz is sure to brighten your evening: 44 North vodka, lime, simple syrup and soda. If you’re dining at their other location, the Agate Alley Laboratory on Willamette St., the Stone Roses cocktail is a must: Grey Goose vodka, dried cherries, rose water, lime juice and simple syrup. If you’re feeling wild, try Frankenstein’s Monster: Don Cesar pisco brandy, Midori, avocado, fresh mint, pineapple juice and, yep, you guessed it, simple syrup.

The Vintage — Downtown Eugene
The Vintage is situated in a lovely victorian style home in Downtown Eugene. Although the actual location is somewhat of a secret to many, it’s no secret that their cocktails are created with thought and care — and are magnificent. Head down on any Tuesday for “Tuesday Boozeday,” where all cocktails are half-off. Try The Honey Bee: house-infused vanilla vodka and yummy muddled lemons, shaken and served in a glass drizzled with honey. Or try their famous creation, the Lava Rock: Coconut rum, Midori melon liqueur, fresh pineapple & orange juices, a berry puree, a tiny splash of cream, and a Pop Rocks rim to top it all off.
