It’s officially apple season! We know everyone loves these crisp, delicious orbs of sweet fruit. From McIntoshes, Honeycrisps, and Pink Ladys to Empires, Galas, and Winesaps, apples are versatile enough to eat straight out of the bin, and create everything from roasted applesauce (what better way to warm the house!) to cocktails. Pair them with pork or greens for a meal, or bake ’em into a sweet treat for dessert. No matter how you slice it, the (love)apple has earned its place in my kitchen as a favorite Fall fruit.
I’m welcoming the season with a collection of apple recipes from The Local Dish. First up? That big apple pie, of course! I’ve got a few apples still hanging on the tree just waiting for me!
